Dr. Michalena Satowski

Dr. Michalena Satowski

Dr. Satowski was a high school valedictorian, earned her DVM with honors from the University of California-Davis, and has over 30 years of veterinary experience. Prior to receiving her doctorate, she graduated with honors from California State University, Fresno with her bachelor’s in biology. She also completed course work for her master’s in zoology and was accepted to the University of Hawaii for a combined masters/ doctoral degree. At UC-Davis, she worked in the Nuclear Medicine Department on their oncology registry. She also worked with CT scans, and on the Feline Iodine 131 Project. Prior to opening up her own practice, she did veterinary work for animal rescue stations in Fresno county, as well as the Chaffee Zoo in Fresno, CA. Dr. Satowski is licensed to practice medicine in both California and South Carolina and carries a Federal Class II veterinary permit (allowing her to provide international transport certificates to exotics in addition to dogs and cats).

Karin joined our team in November 2010 as an RVT. Karin completed the veterinary technology program at Colorado Mountain College. She has worked with a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, cattle, horses and wildlife such as bears, mountain lions and eagles. Karin also volunteers with World Vets and has traveled with them to Nicaragua for a spay/neuter clinic. In her free time, Karin enjoys the San Diego mountains and beaches with her husband and her Border Collie mix, Sullivan.

Liz has been at CCVH since 2013. She is currently working towards her degree in microbiology to further pursue her career in veterinary medicine. She has a Golden Retriever, Dakota, who enjoys tennis just as much as Liz does. She also has three Betta fish; Padawan, Sharkbait, and Pesco.
