Pet Digital Radiology and Ultrasound in Rancho Bernardo, CA
Our veterinary team leverages advanced imaging technologies to ensure the best care for your pet. Our digital X-rays and ultrasounds provide detailed, non-invasive diagnostics for various health concerns.
Pet Digital Radiology
Radiographs, or X-rays, use electromagnetic radiation directed towards the body to highlight internal objects. They can detect abnormalities including skeletal fractures, soft tissue damage, foreign bodies, and dental disease. Digital X-rays also use less radiation, decrease exposure, and supply more detailed images.
Some radiographs and contrast studies require the patient to remain completely still to work correctly, necessitating sedation. Other specialized procedures may require anesthesia. The duration of sedation or anesthesia is usually short and patient recovery is swift.
Pet Dental X-Rays
Dental X-rays are an essential part of diagnosing and treating oral health issues. These advanced images allow us to see below your pet’s gumline and inside the teeth, where many problems, such as tooth root abscesses, fractures, and periodontal disease, can go unnoticed during a routine oral exam. Our digital dental radiology technology provides detailed images quickly and with minimal radiation exposure, ensuring your pet’s safety and comfort.
Pet Ultrasound
We also offer in-house ultrasound, a powerful diagnostic tool that creates a real-time internal image of systems and areas of concern in an animal’s body.
An ultrasound works by broadcasting high-frequency sound waves that reflect off your pet’s internal structures. A small probe held against the skin collects the returning signals to create an image of the internal body, most commonly used to examine abdominal organs like the stomach, kidneys, liver, spleen, and gallbladder.
Completely painless and non-invasive, ultrasounds sometimes require sedation because the patient must remain completely still.
Pet EKGs
When needed, we use electrocardiograms (EKGs) to assess the electrical activity of your pet’s heart. This vital diagnostic tool allows us to detect arrhythmias, heart enlargement, and other cardiac concerns that might affect your pet’s overall health.
Pet EKGs are a quick and non-invasive procedure, typically performed while your pet is calm and relaxed. For particularly nervous pets, we may recommend light sedation to ensure we get the most accurate readings. By using EKG technology, we can create a tailored plan to keep your pet’s heart healthy and strong.
In-house Pet Laboratory
Our in-house laboratory allows us to provide fast and accurate testing, from bloodwork to specialized diagnostics, without the delays of sending samples to external labs. With a doctor trained in internal medicine and a comprehensive range of tools on-site, we’re equipped to handle everything from routine screenings to complex cases—all to ensure your pet receives timely care and treatment.
